lyrics

Shirat Ha-asavim

Da l'kha shekol ro-eh v’ro-eh (Know that each and every shepherd)
yeish lo nigun m'yuhad mishelo (has their own unique tune.)
Da l'kha shekol eisev v'eisev (Know that each and every blade of grass)
yeish lo shirah m'yuhedet mishelo (has its own unique song,)
U-mishirat ha-asavim (and from the song of the grasses)
na-aseh nigun shel ro-eh. (the melody of the shepherd is made.)

Kamah yafeh, kamah yafeh v’na-eh (How beautiful, how beautiful and lovely)
k'sheshom-im hashirah shelahem (it is to hear their songs.)
Tov m'od l'hitpaleil beineihem (It is very good to pray among them)
uv'simchah la-avod et Hashem (and joyful to serve God.)
U-mishirat ha-asavim (And from the song of the grasses)
mitmalei haleiv umish’tokeik (the heart is filled with yearning.)

Ukh'shehaleiv, min hashirah mitmalei (And when the song-filled heart)
umish’tokeik el eretz yisra-eil (yearns for the land of Israel,)
Or gadol azai nimshakh (a great light is drawn to it)
v'holeikh mikdushatah shel ha'aretz alav. (and goes from the holiness of the land to it.)
U-mishirat ha-asavim (And from the song of the grasses)
na'aseh nigun shel haleiv (is born the melody of the heart.)
