G’vurot

אַתָּה גִּבּוֹר לְעוֹלָם אֲדֹנָי, מְחַיֵּה מֵתִים אַֽתָּה,
רַב לְהוֹשִׁיעַ:
Atah gibor l’olam Adonai, m’hayei meitim atah rav l’hoshi·a.

You are mighty forever, Adonai, You give life to the dead; Your saving power is great.

From Sh’mini Atzeret until Pesah:
מַשִּׁיב הָרוּחַ וּמורִיד הַגָּשֶּׁם.
Mashiv haruah u-morid ha-gashem.

You cause the wind to blow and the rain to fall.

[From Pesah until Sh’mini Atzeret:

מוֹרִיד הַטָּל.
Morid hatal.

You cause the dew to fall]

מְכַלְכֵּל חַיִּים בְּחֶסֶד, מְחַיֵּה מֵתִים בְּרַחֲמִים רַבִּים, סוֹמֵךְ נוֹפְלִים, וְרוֹפֵא חוֹלִים, וּמַתִּיר אֲסוּרִים, וּמְקַיֵּם אֱמוּנָתוֹ לִישֵׁנֵי עָפָר, מִי כָמֽוֹךָ בַּֽעַל גְּבוּרוֹת וּמִי דּֽוֹמֶה לָּךְ, מֶלֶךְ מֵמִית וּמְחַיֶּה וּמַצְמִיחַ יְשׁוּעָה:

M’khalkel hayim b’hesed, m’hayei meitim b’rahamim rabim, someikh nof’lim v’rofeh holim u-matir asurim, u-m’kayeim emunato li-sheinei afar. Mi khamokha ba’al g’vurot u-mi domeh lakh, melekh meimit u-m’hayeh u-matzmi·ah y’shu·ah.

You sustain the living through love, and with great mercy give life to the dead. You support the weak, heal the sick, loosen the chains of the bound, and keep faith with those who sleep in the dust. Who is like You, Almighty, and who can be compared to you, Sovereign of death and life who fosters redemption?

On Shabbat Shuvah, we add:
מִי כָמוֹךָ אַב הָרַחֲמִים,
זוֹכֵר יְצוּרָיו לְחַיִּים בְּרַחֲמִים:


Mi khamokha av ha∙rahamim, zokher y’tzurav l’hayim b’rahamim.

Who is like You, source of compassion, who compassionately remembers Your creation for life?

וְנֶאֱמָן אַתָּה לְהַחֲיוֹת מֵתִים.
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, מְחַיֵּה הַמֵּתִים:

V’ne·eman atah l’hahayot meitim. Barukh atah Adonai m’hayei ha-meitim.

You are faithful in bringing life to the dead. Barukh atah Adonai, who gives life to the dead.
