Shiru ladonai shir hadash shiru ladonai kol ha·aretz. Shiru ladonai bar’khu sh’mo, basru miyom l’yom y’shu·ato. Sapru va-goyim k’vodo, b’khol ha·amim niflotav. Ki gadol Adonai u-m’hulal me’od, nora hu al kol elohim. Ki kol elohei ha-amim elilim, vadonai shamayim asah. Hod v’hadar l’fanav, oz v’tiferet b’mikdasho. Sing to Adonai a new song; Sing to Adonai, all the earth; Sing to Adonai, praise God’s name; Day after day, tell how God saves us. Describe God’s glory to the world; Speak of God’s wonders among all peoples. For Adonai is great and should surely be praised, More revered than other gods. For the gods of other nations are man-made idols, But Adonai created the very heavens. Grandeur and glory stand guard in front of God’s holy temple, Strength and splendor are inside it.

Come, my beloved, let us welcome the bride; let us receive Shabbat’s presence. “Observe” and “remember” were spoken as one, and we heard it from the singular One. God’s name is One and God is One, renowned with honor and deserving of praise. Come, my beloved… Let us go and greet Shabbat, the source of divine blessing, created at the beginning of time, But only formed at the end of six days. Come, my beloved… You will spread out to the right and left, praising Adonai, our God. Redeemed by the one who will come from the line of Peretz, we will rejoice with songs of praise. Come, my beloved… Come in peace, crown-jewel of your spouse, surrounded by gladness and joyous shouts. Come to the faithful, the people You proudly treasure, Come, my bride, come, my bride… Come, my beloved...

Mizmor Shir 01:56
Mizmor shir l’yom hashabbat. Tov l’hodot ladonai, u-l’zamer l’shimkha elyon. L’hagid baboker hadekha, ve-emunat’kha baleilot. Alei asor va-alei na-vel, alei higayon b’khinor. A Psalm: a song of the day of Shabbat. It is good to thank You, Adonai, and to sing to Your name, Most High; to proclaim Your love in the morning, Your faithfulness each night. Play the lute, pluck the harp, and let the sound of the lyre rise up.

Even when the trees are old, they still produce fruit, remaining fresh and bountiful, proclaiming: Adonai is upright, my rock, in whom there is no flaw.

Your children recognized Your sovereignty as You split the sea before Moses and Miriam. “This is my God,” they responded, and they said: “Adonai will reign forever and ever.” And so it is written: “Adonai has rescued Jacob and redeemed him from the hands of those who are more powerful.” Barukh atah, Adonai, who redeemed the people Israel.

It is for us to praise the Ruler of all, to praise the Creator, who has not made us like other nations, not formed us like all other earthly families, and not given us an ordinary destiny. And so we bow, acknowledging the supreme sovereign, the Holy One, who is praised – The One who spreads out the heavens and establishes the earth, whose glorious dwelling is in the highest heaven, whose powerful presence is in the highest heights. This is our God, none else; ours is the true sovereign, there is no other. As it is written in the Torah: “Know this day and take it to heart, that Adonai is God in heaven above and on earth below; there is no other.” As it is written in Your Torah: “Adonai will reign forever and ever.” And as the prophet said: “Adonai shall be known as Sovereign of all the earth. On that day Adonai shall be one, and the name of God shall be as one.”
